Horace Horsey, Non-Executive Director

Horace co-founded Civicon in [1975] and co-led (as an executive director) the business' growth from a Mombasa-based cargo-shunting service to a regional engineering and construction giant.  In [2012] Horace retired, but the company is grateful that it continues to enjoy his services as a non-executive director.

He has been a significant player in the Kenya downstream oil & gas sector where he was responsible for several large projects including, the 120,000m3 VTTI tank farm and the annual Kenya Petroleum Refineries shut-down, together with a myriad of tank farms around the region.

In addition to Civicon, Horace has a broad range of entrepreneurial activities that occupy his time, including developing the award-winning Vipingo Ridge golf estate, building a hotel in South Sudan and distribution of non-alcoholic beverages.

Horace was educated in South Africa and Kenya.

 

 

 

 

David Horsey, Non-Executive Director

David co-founded Civicon in [1975] and co-led (as an executive director) the business' growth from a Mombasa-based cargo-shunting service to a regional engineering and construction giant.  In [2012] David retired, but the company is grateful that it continues to enjoy his services as a non-executive director.

He has made major contributions to the Kenya transport sector and is most notably recognised for his revolutionary trailer designs and abnormal load transportation of brewery vessels, large boats and very-long distillation columns.

David is involved in several other entrepreurial successful ventures such as the award-winning Vipingo Ridge golf estate, a hotel in South Sudan and distribution of non-alcoholic beverages.

David was educated in Kenya.

 

 

 

 Ng’ang’a Njiinu, Non-Executive Director


Since joining TransCentury Group in 2008, Njiinu has held various roles in corporate finance, portfolio management, business development as well as originating and developing opportunities in the infrastructure space. 

 

Prior to Joining TransCentury, Njiinu worked for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the USA for 7 years, where he was involved in strategy, financial planning and analysis as well as evaluation and integration of acquisitions. 

 

Njiinu has an MBA in Finance and Investment Management from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas and a Bachelor of Science in International Business from United States International University. Njiinu is also a CFA charter holder.

Mercy Wambugu, Non-Executive Director

Mercy is a Registered Engineer and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya. She graduated from the University of London’s Kings College with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA from the University of Leicester. She is currently a business consultant with extensive experience in oil & gas operations following a long-term career with the Royal Dutch Shell Group. She is also a member of the Council of the Technical University of Kenya.
