Utilising the expertise and experience gained in building roads in very remote places, Civicon curved out a niche in constructing civil engineering works to support oil and gas, and geothermal drilling campaigns. In these fast paced projects you can rely on us to mobilize and deliver access roads, airstrips, well pads, water and drill waste pits, security ditch and bunds, fencing as well as setting up and running permanent and fly camps. Some of the clients we work with in this area include Tullow Kenya BV, Total E&P and Kengen. Some of the selected projects we have successfully undertaken include:

  1. Pakwach Well Pad and Access Infrastructure for Total E&P Uganda
  2. North Nile Well Pad and Access Infrastructure for Total E&P Uganda
  3. Ngamia-1 Well Pad and Access Infrastructure for Tullow Kenya BV

Major Earthworks for Mining Projects

For the last 5 years, Civicon has been involved in mining construction and operations. Currently we have more than 100 heavy earth moving machines ranging from D8R bull dozers, Cat 140H Graders to Bell Dump Trucks working on mining projects in the region. We are involved in excavating & rock breaking and the transport of the earth to the beneficiation plants, as well as the construction of roads and tailings dams.

Civicon is the region’s leading supplier of modular and prefabricated housing units that are commonly used in construction camps and remote oil and gas exploration sites. We have the capability to supply and erect full camps including senior management en suite accommodation units, supervisory shared staff accommodation units, general workforce dormitory type accommodation units, kitchen and messing facilities, rest and recreation facilities, ablution blocks, modular waste water treatment plants and water supply plants. Our clients in this area include our own construction teams, mining companies, oil and gas exploration companies and UN Agencies.

The company is now expanding into large-scale residential housing and is working with several developers to introduce cost-effective building methods to enable the region to roll-out large tracts of housing.
